The semifinal stage has been set at the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League’s COSAFA Qualifiers after the final round of pool matches were played, confirming the Last 4 teams.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies maintained their perfect record at the ongoing qualifiers, following a 4-0 victory over Mozambique’s Costa Do Sol on Monday afternoon in Durban.

Goals from Zanele Nhlapho, Miche Minnes, and a brace from Andisiwe Mgcoyi, were enough for Banyana Ba Style to clinch Group B in brilliant style, securing nine points from the three games played.

Coach Jerry Tshabalala’s team will this afternoon (15:30pm) face Zambia’s Green Buffaloes in the semi-finals, in a rematch of last year’s final match, where the Zambians secured a surprising victory in a penalty shootout, winning 6-5 after both teams found it difficult to score during regulation time.

Meanwhile

The other semi-final will feature Botswana’s Double Action Ladies (finished at the helm of Group A) against Costa do Sol, kick-off is set for 12pm.

Both matches will be played at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.

From the four teams that remain, only one team will represent the region at the continental finals in Ivory Coast in November.

Morocco’s AS FAR currently holds the title of the CAF Women’s Champions League, having dethroned the inaugural winners Mamelodi Sundowns in Rabat last year.
