Following a brilliant performance at the recently concluded Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Belgium, South African gymnast Caitlin Rooskrantz managed to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

In a heartfelt message, the 21-year-old artistic gymnast expressed her gratitude, saying she is blessed to have a special group that supported her.

“By God’s grace, I have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games,” Rooskrantz said on her Instagram account.

“It’s been a long month of competing in three different countries. Not everything went exactly as planned, but we are coming home with an Olympic ticket, and that’s all that matters. “Thank you to my incredible team, and I’m blessed to be part of such a special group.”

This will be Rooskrantz’s second appearance at the Olympics. She made her debut at the Tokyo 2020 games, where she became the first South African woman gymnast to qualify outright for the Olympic Games.

Rooskrantz also had great success at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she again made history with her bronze in the uneven bars the country’s first medal in the discipline.

She is also only the second female South African gymnast after Jennifer Khwela to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games.

Her outstanding performance also helped team South Africa achieve a historic 19th place finish at the championships.
