Concerns over a full-fledged Middle East war are growing

Following Israel’s threat to stop Egyptian aid trucks from traveling to Palestine yesterday, there are fears that a full-fledged Middle East war will break out. This comes as tens of thousands of people have been forced from their homes in the West Bank due to Israel’s week-long indiscriminate bombing campaign, which has also claimed the lives of 2,000 civilians, including women and children.

Egypt has refused to heed the Islamic state’s warning with the government reiterating its intention to send truck loads of supply to besieged Palestinians and warning its forces would respond ruthlessly to any bombing.

The tension between the two comes on the back of reports that Israel has already fired rockets into both Syria and Lebanon where Islamic resistance force Hezbollah is operating from.

Meanwhile another resistance force Taliban which has since taken over the government of Afghanistan after driving away occupying US forces has asked for safe passage from neighbouring Islamic states in order to gain access to Israel with a stated intention of infiltrating and destructing the Zionist state.

Meanwhile Christians, Judaists and circular movements within Israel have condemned the actions of President Benjamin Netanyahu’s government particularly the bombing of religious sites in the Westbank and the targeting of Palestinian civilians.

The groups have likened the current Israeli government to a Nazi grouping and added to mounting calls for the end to the country’s 75 year occupation of Palestine which has seen tens of thousands lives lost over the years.

Meanwhile Israel has destroyed the Rafah border crossing just days after President Benjamin Netanyahu directed civilians to leave the Westbank into Israel.

The destruction of the only crossing between Gaza and Egypt comes at the back of an announcement giving Israeli soldiers carte blanche in the quest for revenge following the killing of some 900 or so soldiers by HAMAS resistance fighters who on Saturday morning infiltrated Israel in an unprecedented counter offensive that resulted in the takeover of some of the country’s military installations as well as the capture of army personnel including commanders.

The Israeli army also reports capturing over a hundred Hamas fighters but critics have dismissed the claim alleging the captured and those who have been killed were mostly unarmed civilians.

The Israeli government defended the army’s actions saying civilians could not be spared since many of them took to the streets in moments captured on video, to celebrate Hamas’ unexpected infiltration of Israel and according to the Israel Defence Force, effectively made everyone in the Westbank legitimate military target
(including women and children).

“We are dealing with human animals and therefore all rules of war are suspended. There are no civilians but supporters of the terrorist Hamas. You have seen them celebrating the taking of Israeli lives. If it’s hell they want then we we will give them hell, said the country’s armed forces in a post attributed to its head.  Meanwhile a US aircraft has arrived in Israel carrying fighter jets, rocket propellers and other weaponry as part of a swift reaction by Washington aimed at preventing any other interested parties such as Iran, Syria Egypt and the Lebanon based Hezbollah from “taking advantage” of the situation.

“Let me say this again to any country, any organisation, anyone who is thinking of taking advantage of this situation. I can only say one thing, don’t,” said President Joe Biden in a televised address.
