Red Bull principal to know his fate soon

Red Bull Formula 1 team principal, Christian Horner will know his fate later this week following allegations of inappropriate behaviour against a female team member.

More than 100 pages of the investigation’s findings are reported to be under review by the Red Bull GmbH board, that is expected to decide whether Horner remains as team principal and the CEO.

The announcement of Horner’s future comes at a critical time, ahead of the 2024 Season opening Grand Prix in Bahrain this weekend.

The F1 veteran has, however, refuted claims of misconduct on his end.

‘’I deny the allegations that have been made but I’m going through a process and respect that process. For me, it’s business as normal, focused on the season ahead. Of course, it is a distraction for the team,’’ said Horner at the Red Bull’s season launch.

He added that his team has been supportive throughout the process.

His Mercedes counterpart and arch-rival, Toto Wolff called for the outcomes to be studied closely.

‘’We want to talk about sport rather than these kind of very, very critical topics.

F1 and the teams stand for inclusion, equality, fairness, diversity.

It is not only talking about it, it is living it day in and day out, and these are the standards we are setting ourselves.

“We are a global sport, one of the most important sports in the world and we are role models,’’ explained Wolff.

Wolff also described the saga as not just a team issue, but one for all F1.

The verdict on Horner’s fate will have a major effect on Red Bull as they prepare to defend their titles, after their spectacular run last year and dominating the entire season in F1 history.
