Zuma warns of possible rigging

Former President Jacob Zuma is once again suggesting the upcoming National and Provincial could be rigged. Zuma addressed supporters outside the Johannesburg High Court following the postponement of his private prosecution case against his successor Cyril Ramaphosa who was not in court.

Zuma said he has heard that there are people who are voting at night ( presumably for the benefit of the ruling ANC).

“I have heard that there are already people who are voting at night because they are scared that we are going to win so you must come out in numbers and don’t make a wrong choice on the day,” said Zuma in Isizulu.

The former President said the MK party which he now leads was being targeted by those who fear the emancipation of Africans whom he argues remain oppressed and landless.

“They know that we are going to liberate the country. We have already won so many cases but they are not stopping, they want to use the courts and the IEC to frustrate us. The IEC must stick to running elections and not worry about who is elected president because that is the business of parliament,” he said to loud applause.

Zuma has also questioned the secrecy of voting saying if elected into power he will amend the constitution to ensure that voting is done in the open.

“Consider me for example, a known MK member being made to vote in secret, it does not make sense. We will have booths for every party and insist that votes be counted manually in the open to avoid being robbed because these people are full of tricks,” he said.
