The Springbok said it is ready to face-off with Ireland at the Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday at 17:00.

The Irish is the last team to beat the Boks, during the pool stages of last year’s Rugby World Cup in Paris, France, and the Boks are expected to seek revenge following the defeat.

This would be the Boks second Test of the season, after they beat Wales 41-13 at the Twickenham stadium in London more than a week ago.

The Boks are however cautious that the Irish are not happy with their success and will want to dampen the mood in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.

“The vibe in the camp is very exciting and everyone is looking forward to the Test.

We have no doubt Ireland will come out strongly.

It’s going to be a fast game, and one that will require an 80-minute effort,” said scrumhalf Grant Williams.

Williams dismissed reports of intense rivalry between the top two teams in the world ahead of Saturday’s clash.

“We pride ourselves on trying to win Test matches, so we don’t really dwell on who’s number one or two in the world.

The Rugby World Cup is history, so our focus now is solely on doing well in this Test,” explained Williams.

Meanwhile, Springbok backline coach, Tony Brown, echoed Williams sentiments regarding the Irish’s urge to dethrone the Boks as the best team in the world and will surely come out guns blazing on Saturday.

“Ireland have been playing good rugby for a few years now.

The Springboks have won the last two Rugby World Cups, whereas Ireland would have loved to do better in the World Cups.

Both teams also believe they are the best in the world, which creates a big build up to what should be a great Test match,” said Brown.
