South African rapper and songwriter, Tokelo Moyakhe popularly known as Maglera Doe Boy, took to Instagram to announce his milestone of receiving the very first career platinum plaque for his contribution on K. O’s Let Me Cook track.

The hip hop single that was released last year in May, was met with a lot of admiration, and reignited the love for the genre.

It also came at a time when there was speculation on whether South African hip hop will continue to survive, especially amidst the rise of Amapiano.

Maglera expressed gratitude to his supporters after posting a picture of the plaque alongside K.O.

“Today the cousin K.O pulled up to drop off my first ever Platinum Plaque for my contribution on Let Me Cook.

Ke lebohile kaofela ba ratileng pina eo (Thank you to all those who loved the song).

Big shouts to my brother @wndrszn for engineering that session,” wrote the artist on his Instagram account.

Congratulatory messages flooded the comment section under his post.

“Well deserved. Ya’ll cooked and the meal was too much,” @_03serenity said.

@kwanele.artistically commented “from maglera to the world.”

Maglera’s brand continues to grow and receive recognition here at home and internationally.

His versatility, lyricism and unique delivery of bars leaves fans wanting more.

The plaque achievement adds to his accolades that include the feature he made with NBA legend, LeBron James on a Hennessy advert.
