The Miss South Africa Organisation has announced that the national beauty pageant that was expected to be held next month, has been pushed back to a later date yet to be confirmed.

Competition entries were opened between the 2nd and 11th of April.

Miss SA revealed this through a short press release on their website and social media platforms.

“The postponement is to ensure greater alignment with international and other global events.

The Organisation, through its affiliated companies, aims to broaden the reach and impact of the pageant and its contestants.

The pillars of the Organisation will be expanded to include entrepreneurship, job creation, cultural awareness, and social cohesion,” read the statement.

The delays follow recent developments that transpired at the Organisation which have left the public speculating about the future of the pageant.

Among others, concerns were raised regarding delays around the announcement of the top 30 contestants.

It also registered two key resignations of CEO, Stephanie Weil and Creative Director, Werner Wessels.

Furthermore, reigning Miss SA, Mia le Roux pulled out of two major international pageants, i.e., the Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico, and the Miss Supranational 2025 that was held in Poland in June.

The postponement was met with mixed reactions on social media.

@build_bymahlatse expressed optimism “Ok then. We will keep waiting. Thank you for the update.”

Another user @mrs_andadana sought answers “Nothing new here. It’s just heart breaking to see this organisation we once loved so much not moved by us asking what is happening. You guys don’t care about us supporters. We are still confused about the plans going forward,” read the comment.

Despite these changes, the Organization assured the public that further announcements will be made in due course regarding the changes and a way forward.
