King Charles III and Queen Camilla have arrived in the United States for their first official state visit as monarch and consort, marking a major diplomatic milestone during America’s 250th anniversary of independence.

The four-day visit, taking place from April 27 to April 30, 2026, is hosted by Donald J. Trump and Melania Trump. It is the first visit of its kind by a British monarch since Queen Elizabeth II traveled to the U.S. in 2007, highlighting the continued strength of the transatlantic “special relationship.”

Royal Arrival and White House Welcome

The King and Queen landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Monday, where they were greeted with full military honors before heading to Washington, D.C. The visit began with a private tea and a garden party at the White House, offering an informal start to a packed diplomatic schedule.

Despite recent security concerns following an incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, both Buckingham Palace and U.S. officials confirmed that the visit would proceed without any changes.
