The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has announced a change in its communications leadership, removing Nhlamulo Ndhlela as national spokesperson and appointing Sifiso Mahlangu in his place.

The announcement was made on Monday night by party secretary-general Sibonelo Nomvalo following a meeting of national officials.

The party did not provide reasons for the decision, but the move is widely viewed as part of a broader effort to strengthen its media presence and refine its public messaging.

Sifiso Mahlangu, who has been appointed as the new national spokesperson, brings a strong background in journalism and media management.

Nomvalo said Mahlangu’s experience as an academic, former news editor, and media professional would enhance the party’s communications capability.

“He is a highly experienced journalist and renowned media personality who brings invaluable technical and professional insight to the party,” Nomvalo said.

The leadership change comes as political parties increasingly focus on media strategy and public perception in a highly competitive political environment.
