Kylian Mbappé has made FIFA World Cup history by becoming the first player to win the Golden Boot at two consecutive tournaments after finishing as the leading scorer at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The France captain ended the tournament with 10 goals, surpassing the eight he scored at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where he also claimed the Golden Boot despite France losing to Argentina in the final.
The 27-year-old’s latest scoring feat takes his overall World Cup tally to 22 goals, making him the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer and further strengthening his place among football’s greatest players.
