Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the signing of highly-rated winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old joins Amakhosi after an impressive campaign with Stellenbosch, where he finished as the club’s top scorer with nine goals and scooped both the Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards.
In a statement on Monday, Chiefs described Phili as an “exciting and highly sought-after young winger” and said his performances had established him as one of South Africa’s brightest attacking talents.
The Durban-born winger featured in 39 matches across the Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup last season, demonstrating the consistency Chiefs believe will be crucial as they prepare for a demanding campaign in domestic and continental competitions.
Phili also boasts an impressive international pedigree. He was part of the South Africa U-20 side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco last year and has recently been called up to the national U-23 squad preparing for the 2027 U-23 AFCON qualifiers, with qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles at stake.
“We warmly welcome Langelihle to the Gold & Black family and look forward to a positive and successful career with Amakhosi,” the club said.
Phili becomes the latest addition to Nasreddine Nabi’s squad as Chiefs continue strengthening their team ahead of the new season.
