Orlando Pirates, TS Galaxy and Durban City secured victories in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday, while Siwelele FC and Chippa United played to a 1-1 draw.
At the Orlando Amstel Arena, Orlando Pirates defeated Sekhukhune United 2-0, with Boitumelo Radiopane and Oswin Appollis finding the back of the net.
After a cagey opening, Pirates came close to breaking the deadlock when Radiopane struck the woodwork in the 30th minute. The striker eventually opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time, combining with Kamogelo Sebelebele before finishing from an acute angle.
Sekhukhune had an opportunity to level early in the second half, but Mokibelo Ramabu headed narrowly wide.
Pirates doubled their advantage shortly after the hour mark when Radiopane released Appollis, who calmly finished despite pressure from the Sekhukhune defence.
The Soweto side controlled the closing stages and held on for a clean sheet.
At the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, TS Galaxy edged Marumo Gallants 3-2 in a five-goal thriller.
Gallants took an early lead through Msindisi Ndlovu in the fourth minute, but Victor Letsoalo restored parity for Galaxy in the 21st minute.
Sedwyn George then put Galaxy ahead four minutes into the second half before Letsoalo converted a penalty on the hour mark to make it 3-1.
Gallants pulled one back through former Galaxy player Onke Moletshe with 16 minutes remaining, but the Rockets held firm to claim all three points.
The victory lifted Galaxy to eighth on the log, while Gallants remain 15th and without a win this season.
Durban City also registered their first league victory of the campaign, beating Kruger United 2-0 at Mbombela Stadium.
Jean Lwamba opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Gaston Sirino doubled the advantage five minutes into the second half.
Kruger had opportunities to get back into the match, but Durban City goalkeeper Fredrick Asare produced important saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The result moved Durban City up to seventh with five points from four matches, while Kruger remained 16th with one point.
Meanwhile, Siwelele FC and Chippa United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Free State Stadium.
Siwelele dominated much of the match but fell behind in the 52nd minute when Azola Matrose cut inside from the right and fired a powerful left-footed strike past Samukelo Xulu.
The hosts eventually equalised in the 75th minute through Yandisa Mfolozi, who finished from a Relebogile Mokhuoane pass.
Siwelele pushed for a winner late on, but Chippa held firm to secure a point.
Both sides remain without a league win this season, with Chippa 12th and Siwelele 14th on the log.
