Paris Saint-Germain claimed a thrilling 4-2 victory over Barcelona, while Liverpool maintained their 100% record with a dramatic 4-3 win against Villarreal in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League action.

PSG came from behind in an entertaining encounter in France to secure their third consecutive victory in the league phase and move to the top alongside Liverpool.

Désiré Doué opened the scoring for the French champions in the 38th minute before Barcelona’s 19-year-old Xavi Espart equalised shortly after half-time.

Lucas Hernández restored PSG’s lead with a 72nd-minute header, but Lamine Yamal responded seven minutes later to level the score.

PSG, however, finished strongly, with Vitinha and Fabián Ruiz scoring late goals to seal the victory. Doué was named Player of the Match.

Liverpool also produced a remarkable comeback at Anfield, recovering from a two-goal deficit to defeat Villarreal 4-3.

Georges Mikautadze and Sergi Cardona put the Spanish visitors in control before Alexis Mac Allister and an own goal by Ronald Araújo brought Liverpool level.

Mac Allister scored again before Florian Wirtz netted what proved to be the winning goal. Tani Oluwaseyi’s late strike was not enough to deny Liverpool their third successive victory.

Meanwhile, Manchester City recorded a convincing 5-1 win over AEK Athens, with Phil Foden scoring a hat-trick.

Rayan Cherki also found the net, while Elliot Anderson opened the scoring as City secured their second win of the league phase.

Napoli edged Bodø/Glimt 4-3 in another high-scoring encounter, with Scott McTominay scoring twice to help the Italian side secure their first victory of the campaign.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund beat Sabah 2-1 thanks to a Serhou Guirassy brace, while Roma defeated Slovan Bratislava 4-0 to register their first win in the competition.

PSV also secured their first victory, beating Porto 1-0 through Guus Til’s second-half goal.

Stuttgart and Atlético Madrid shared the points in a 1-1 draw, while Fenerbahçe and Slavia Praha played out a 2-2 draw after a late equaliser from substitute Pavel Kačor.

The Champions League action continues on Wednesday, with Manchester United facing Como, while Bayern Munich take on Arsenal and Real Madrid meet Leipzig.
