Como produced one of the biggest results of the UEFA Champions League Matchday 3 fixtures, thrashing Manchester United 4-1, while Arsenal fought back to secure a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Aston Villa, Real Betis and Real Madrid also maintained their perfect starts to the league phase, recording their third consecutive victories in the competition.

Como humble Manchester United

Como delivered a stunning attacking performance to overwhelm the three-time European champions, with Nicolás Paz leading the charge.

The Argentine international opened the scoring after just two minutes with a curling effort before setting up Tasos Douvikas early in the second half.

Paz then scored his second goal of the match with an impressive solo effort as Como extended their lead to 3-0.

Jacobo Ramón added a fourth with a powerful header, while Manchester United substitute Joshua Zirkzee scored a late consolation goal.

Paz was named Player of the Match following his influential performance.

Rice rescues Arsenal against Bayern

Arsenal secured a valuable point in Germany after Declan Rice scored a late equaliser in their 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich.

Eberechi Eze gave Arsenal the lead following an excellent pass from Martin Ødegaard, but Alphonso Davies equalised for the German side after a clever assist from Harry Kane.

Kane then put Bayern ahead from the penalty spot after Jurriën Timber handled the ball, extending his scoring streak to 10 consecutive Champions League matches.

Rice, however, struck with eight minutes remaining to ensure Arsenal left Germany with a share of the points.

Bayern striker Kane was named Player of the Match.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s mentality and performance against one of Europe’s leading sides.

“It was an incredible match to watch. Tough to go through it because the margins are so small. Two teams that want to put under pressure constantly, everything is man-to-man. Two teams that want to attack, they want to be dominant,” Arteta said.

“I’m really impressed with the mindset and the quality that the team showed right from the beginning. To do that in this stadium against this team and to do what we’ve done right from the beginning was impressive.”

Villa and Real Madrid maintain perfect records

Aston Villa continued their impressive Champions League campaign with a 3-1 victory over Viking.

Ross Barkley opened the scoring with a header from Ibrahim Mbaye’s corner before Emiliano Buendía converted a penalty to double Villa’s advantage.

Viking defender Henrik Heggheim inadvertently turned the ball into his own net to make it 3-0, although Peter Christiansen scored a late consolation with an acrobatic volley.

Unai Emery’s side held on to secure their third win in as many league-phase matches.

Real Madrid also recorded their third consecutive victory, defeating Leipzig 4-1 at home.

Bernardo Silva and Arda Güler scored either side of half-time before Kylian Mbappé produced a curling finish in the 83rd minute.

Tidiam Gomis pulled one back for Leipzig, but Yan Diomande sealed Madrid’s victory with a powerful volley into the top corner.

Galatasaray and LASK claim important victories

Galatasaray collected their first points of the campaign after beating Lille 4-2 in France.

Yunus Akgün gave the visitors an early lead, but Lille forward Soriba Diaoune scored twice to put the hosts ahead.

Aleksei Batrakov equalised before half-time, while a Nabil Bentaleb own goal and Victor Osimhen’s finish secured Galatasaray’s victory.

LASK also claimed a memorable 3-2 win over Sporting CP in Lisbon to register their first Champions League victory.

Luis Suárez opened the scoring from the penalty spot, but Christoph Lang equalised for the Austrian side.

Saša Kalajdžić and Kryštof Daněk then scored to put LASK in control. Suárez added his second late in the match, but Sporting could not complete the comeback.

Inter, Club Brugge and Real Betis win

Inter secured their first victory of the campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk despite playing with 10 men for the closing stages.

Carlos Augusto scored the decisive goal in the 77th minute after a swift counterattack, while goalkeeper Josep Martínez made crucial saves to preserve the lead.

Club Brugge recorded a convincing 3-0 victory over Lens, with Hans Vanaken, Joaquin Seys and Carlos Forbs finding the net.

Real Betis maintained their perfect start with a narrow 1-0 victory over Feyenoord. Captain Isco converted a penalty to secure all three points for the Spanish side.
