AKA and Tibz Murder Case: Ndimande Brothers Expected in Durban Court Today

The high-profile murder case involving brothers Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande, accused of orchestrating the 2023 killings of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, is set to resume in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today.

The siblings were extradited from Eswatini in November 2025 after withdrawing their appeal against extradition in October. They face multiple charges, including two counts of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, unlawful possession of firearms, and money laundering related to the fatal shooting outside the Wish restaurant on Florida Road in February 2023.

Today’s appearance follows a postponement from late November 2025, granted to allow the defence access to extradition-related documents from the state. The brothers remain in custody at Westville Prison.

Prosecutors intend to have the Ndimande brothers tried jointly with five co-accused in the Durban High Court, with the main trial scheduled to begin in July 2026.
