The Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) has argued that the Ministers of Home Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi’s decision to terminate the validity of the Zimbabwean Exemption Permits (ZEP) was ‘procedurally unfair and procedurally irrational’ and wants the court to get it reviewed and set aside. Facebook rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester, and his companion Dr Nandipha Magudumana were in possession of several passports with different names when they were arrested in Tanzania on Friday night. The arrests were confirmed by Minister of Police Bheki Cele during a media briefing in Tshwane over the weekend also attended by Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamoa and the National Commissioner Fannie Masemola. The International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) blesses polygamous unions that the church says are authorised by the Bible. Sefako Makgatho Health Science University (SMU) had to shut its doors as the students blockaded the university entrance demanding that the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) pay all outstanding fees. The students have been protesting since Tuesday and they have vowed to continue with demonstrations until their grievances have been resolved. Gauteng MEC for Health, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, has slammed the protesters who stormed a ceremony to unveil a fleet of emergency services in Mamelodi, Tshwane on Wednesday. Nkomo-Ralehoko and Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi were unveiling today 255 vehicles that will help reduce the emergency services response time when a group of Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers with placards written “stop exploiting EPWP” stormed the event demanding permanent employment. EFF leader Julius Malema says the bill that was passed by the Uganda Parliament that promotes the imposing of harsher sentences for LGBQI+ community is not just human right violation but also threat to political freedom. Malema led a march to the Ugandan High Commission calling on the country’s President Yoweri Museveni to not sign the bill into law. Last month, Ugandan Parliament passed legislation that is set to impose harsher penalties and criminalise anyone identifying as LGBTQ. The former City of Tshwane Executive Mayor, Murunwa Makwarela was granted a R10 000 bail by the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court this morning where he faced charges of fraud and uttering of a forged document, the Hawks said in a statement.
