The COSAFA neighbours will face off against each other on Friday evening at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, in a group C qualifying match.

“We know it’s going to be a difficult game.

Lesotho is a very hard running team, with a lot of fighters.

Everywhere we’ve been in the past months, fans have come to the stadium to support and motivate us.

I’ve no doubt that Polokwane will also support us on Friday,” said Bafana Bafana’s Oswin Appollis.

The team is currently in second position in the log with seven points, while Lesotho is last on fourth position with five points.

Appollis heaped praise at the team’s preparation, adding that the mood in the camp has been amazing throughout the week.

He however doesn’t expect a walkover against Lesotho.

“It’s going to be a difficult game.

But as South Africans we’re always ready to put in the work, run hard and fight for the team

You can see the excitement from the guys for Friday.

The coach always tells us that everyone wants to beat South Africa now, they come guns blazing.

But we’ve prepared well and are confident of positive results if we put in the hard work,” remarked Appollis.

Apollis’ comments were echoed by teammate, Khuliso Mudau.

“The preparations are going well, everyone is ready to play the game on Friday.

It’s a good feeling to represent the country.

They’re a good side.

But the mood in the camp is perfect and with the supporters in Polokwane, Lesotho don’t stand a chance,” explained Mudau.

After the Lesotho match, the team will then fly to Ivory Coast by charter flight to face Benin on Tuesday.
