In a decisive encounter in the Group C qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Bafana Bafana emerged victorious with a commanding 2-0 win against Lesotho. The highly anticipated match, held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, kicked off at 6 pm and saw South Africa deliver a performance that reignited hopes of a successful World Cup campaign.

From the outset, South Africa showcased their dominance on the pitch, effectively controlling the game’s tempo and creating numerous opportunities. Despite their efforts, Lesotho struggled to match the energy and skill exhibited by their opponents, ultimately leading to a one-sided contest.

The breakthrough came in the 60th minute when Relebohile Ratomo found the back of the net, sending the home crowd into a frenzy. Just four minutes later, Jayden Adams doubled the advantage with a well-timed strike, sealing the fate of the match well before the final whistle.

This victory not only strengthens Bafana Bafana’s position in the qualifying campaign but also serves as a critical morale booster as they continue to chase their World Cup dreams. The team’s cohesiveness and resilience on the field were evident, leaving spectators optimistic about their chances moving forward in the tournament.

As the qualifiers progress, South Africa’s focus will now shift to the next challenge that lies ahead, propelled by the confidence garnered from this important win.
