Benni McCarthy is set to become the new Kenya national team boss, according to reports. McCarthy, 47, is said to have landed his first gig since leaving his role as first team coach at Manchester United.

Former striker McCarthy worked at Old Trafford between 2022 and 2024 under Erik ten Hag. According to Goal, he is set to be named the new manager of Kenya.They add that, barring a “last-minute change”, McCarthy will be unveiled in early January.

Kenya were previously managed by Turkish boss Engin Firar. He left his post after the team failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Kenya’s next goal will be to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. sun.co.uk
