Beyoncé gives Kamala Harris permission to play ‘Freedom’ during campaigns

The US Vice President, Kamala Harris, who is now a Presidential Candidate, has reportedly received the green light to use Beyonce’s Freedom song for her campaign trail.

Following her first electioneering speech in Wilmington, Delaware, Harris closed to the tune in the background.

“Freedom, Freedom where are you?

Cause I need freedom too, I break chains all by myself, won’t you let my freedom rot in hell.

Hey I’ma keep running cause a winner don’t quit on themselves,’’ played the single featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar, from Beyonce’s 2016 Lemonade album.

While Queen Bee hasn’t officially come out to endorse Harris, her mother, Tina Knowles sang her praises after President Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race and passed the baton to Harris.

“New, youthful, sharp energy!

Putting personal ego, power and fame aside.

That is the definition of a great leader.

Thank you, President Biden, for your service and your leadership.

Go Vice President Kamala Harris for President.

Let’s Go,’’ read the caption as she posted a picture of herself alongside Harris on her Instagram account.

Some critics including the Beehive predict that the use of Beyonce’s song will strengthen Harris’ campaign and win over GenZ.

Several Hollywood stars and musicians including Cardi B, Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, Charlie XCX, Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes, are amongst those who have publicly welcomed Biden’s decision and vowed to back Harris.

She would be the first woman to be the US President if her election campaign triumphs against former head of state, Donald Trump.
