Grammy award-winning DJ Nkosinathi Maphumulo affectionately known as Black Coffee is recovering in hospital after he was involved in a severe travel accident on a flight en route to his show in Mar del Plata, in Argentina. According to a statement from his management team on Instagram the artist is recovering after sustaining some injuries.

‘’The incident resulted in unforeseen complications and left him with some injury. We can confirm that he is receiving the best possible medical attention and is surrounded by a supportive family and team,’’ read the statement. The team appealed for patience during this period.

‘’In respect of his privacy, we kindly request understanding and patience from the media and his fans. Despite the challenges presented, Black Coffee is optimistic and recovering well,’’ added the statement.

Coffee’s fans took to X to offer their love and support to the DJ during this time.

‘’I pray for Black Coffee’s recovery. May God and his angels keep his life safe. Strength to him and his family during this time,” commented one fan.

‘’We wish you well and look forward to having you back entertaining us and doing what you love,” highlighted another fan.  Coffee is scheduled to headline the Tulum Day Zero Festival in Mexico on 12 January. It is still unclear whether he will perform at the event due to his injuries.
