Well-known insolvency expert Cloete Murray passed away on Sunday morning from wounds he received in a gunshot close to Midrand.

Murray and his son Thomas Murray were both shot by armed robbers on the N1 on Saturday.

Thomas, who was 28 years old, passed away at the scene while his father Cloete was taken to the hospital for emergency care. Murray served as an insolvency specialist for the Sechaba Trust, a business that was appointed as Bosasa’s liquidator.

At this point, it is unclear what exactly happened to cause the incident.

“We don’t yet know what exactly happened during the incident. The crime stop line is where the police ask anyone who may have information that can help with the investigation to get in touch,” said Dimakatso Sello of the South African Police Service.
