American R&B singer and performer, Chris Brown has finally arrived in South Africa, for his much-anticipated concerts at the FNB Stadium this weekend.

The Sensational hitmaker will treat his Mzansi fans to a thrilling musical experience on 14 and 15 December.

Event company Big Concerts shared snaps of him wearing a cap in a hoodie, surrounded by his crew and security personnel, arriving at the OR Tambo International Airport.

Social media users reacted to the post with mixed reactions, but mostly humour.

Some made jokes about him arriving in a hoodie during a heatwave, while others sent welcoming messages.

Breezy’s visit was met with mixed opinions and some controversy, especially over his abusive past in 2009.

Civic groups like Women For Change instituted a petition to stop him from performing in the country, especially at a time when it observes 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children.

Despite calls for him to be cancelled, his die-hard fans can’t wait to sing-along to some of his classics and bangers.

“See ya’ll this weekend,” wrote @SediLakaMusic with fire emojis, while @davidtalent22 commented “Congrats to Breezy! Takeover!”

Big Concerts sought to assure the safety of attendees.

“Your safety is always our top priority.

We’ve taken many precautions to ensure a safe, secure experience for all patrons.

The venue is fully equipped with visible security throughout the premises, and we’ve added extra lighting to illuminate the outer stadium areas.

We are committed to providing a high level of safety and security for all attendees,’’ read a post from the company on Instagram.

Additionally, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department has announced the closure of some roads and alternatives, as traffic volumes are expected to peak.

Routes to be affected include Soweto Highway, Nasrec Road, Golden Highway and Booysens Reserve Road.

Their statement also indicated that “trains and buses will operate with increased frequency to accommodate concert goers from Park Station to FNB Stadium and back, for e-hailing drop and go, a designated area for those services will be available.”

Meanwhile, SA’s duo Major League DJz was announced to be joining Brown on stage.
