Golden Arrows and Polokwane City have both maintained their good start to the Betway Premiership, by winning their encounters this weekend.
This as Arrows pipped Marumo Gallants, while City made it two wins after beating newcomers Magesi FC.
Arrows Knox Mutizwa opened the score sheet during their encounter with Gallants at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale, before Nduduzo Sibiya doubled the lead a minute before halftime, to end the match 2-0.
The win elevated Abafana Bes’thende to the top of the league standings, while Bahlabane Ba Ntwa are second at the bottom of the league.
At the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo, Rise And Shine registered their second win in the league after they beat Magesi 2-0 in the Limpopo derby.
The goals were scored by City’s Puleng Marema and Sibusiso Tshabalala sealed the victory in the doubled Rise And Shine lead on 73 minutes to clinch the Limpopo derby spoils.
The win leaves City in second position behind Arrows with goal difference, while newly promoted Dikwena Tsa Meetse, lie at the bottom of the league.
Chippa United, who lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates midweek, beat Richards Bay 1-0 at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium.
Despite dominating the match, the Chilli Boys failed to convert many opportunities and settled for a one-goal lead, which was registered an own goal after it was deflected.
The Chilli Boys are now in seventh position, while the Natal Rich Boyz are behind at eight positions in the log.
Meanwhile, SuperSport United and Royal AM played to a 0-0 draw at the TUT Stadium.
