EFF leader Julius Malema is adamant he will continue the ‘Kill the boer’ chant because even the Equality Court ruled in his favour when it found that chanting could not cause a genocide, he said this during a media briefing in Jobrug on Wednesday.

The court found that the right-wing group AfriForum which had approached the court, failed to prove the lyrics demonstrated a clear intention to harm or incite harm or propagate hatred.

AfriForum has taken the matter to court again after Malema chanted it at the party’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations at FNB Stadium on Saturday where thousands of supporters filled the venue to capacity.

During the press conference yesterday Malema said he’s not going to stop singing the song and insisted there was no history of black people killing white people over the song even during the dark days of apartheid.

“The court said there is nothing wrong with singing ‘kill the boer, kill the farmer’ when do we respect the judgements of the court? And when do we disrespect the judgment of the court? When they favour Hellen Zille we must respect them, when they don’t favour her we must not respect them,” he asked.

Malema also accused the DA which has also threatened court action of  just politicking  by filing charges against him with the United Nations Human Rights Council on the matter.

“I don’t want to talk about that illiterate John Steenhuisen, if Hellen was opposed to this for real, why didn’t she join the case, why didn’t the DA join the case when I was taken to equality court,” he asked.
