AKA’s fans, popularly referred to as the Megacy, have come together in celebration of what could have been the late rapper, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes’ 37th birthday.

This year also marks the second anniversary of his untimely tragic death.

AKA’s mother, Lynn Forbes paid an emotional tribute to his son, reflecting on his tender years.

“On this day, at 1:15 in the early morning, I heard your first cry.

I felt your warmth as you were placed on my chest.

Your natural birth, 37 years ago, left me exhausted yet invigorated. I couldn’t take my eyes off your, counting every tiny toe, every little finger.

My tiny baby boy, my first born, your hands wide open, long legs dangling. 2.75kg, 54 cm.

So perfect, so full of promise, you left me in awe.

In that moment, my heart changed forever, you made me a mother,” said Forbes.

In addition, she described the feeling as an unbreakable bond and infinite love.

“I can never day happy heavenly birthday, for your birthday is an occasion forever etched in my heart.

Happy birthday Kiernan,” remarked the mother on her Instagram page.

The post was immediately flooded with comments of love and comfort, with fans and friends expressing how much they miss him, while others wished peace upon his soul.

AKA’s killing became one of the difficult moments to come to terms with, especially with his musical impact and social activism.

Recently two suspects linked to the double murder of Supa Mega and his friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, were denied bail by the Durban Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal.

The pair sought to present the court with new evidence, despite having been initially denied bail along with other co-accused.

The case was postponed to 07 February 2025 for indictments to be served and transfer to the High Court.

The Megacy remains optimistic and steadfast in their request for what they describe as “real justice” for the tragic killing of the musician.

Although his fans will never get to physically experience him again, they will at least find comfort in his last offering, Mass Country, which was his last album before his passing.
