Fans call out Cardi B and Nicki Minaj for trolling each other’s children

The long-standing feud between American rap artists Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has spilled over to their children and some fans are not having it.

What started off as an album comparison is now becoming a back and forth between the two and their young children continue to catch strays.

Both Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s fans, affectionately referred to as the ‘Bardi gang’ and the ‘Barbz’ respectively, have reacted with dismay to the involvement of children in the rappers’ beef.

@CateN on X strongly objected to this, adding that it’s also perpetuating more discrimination.

“This stuff they are doing is fuelling hatred, racism and superiority. This awful public display is not good, especially since white racists are erasing black history,” the user wrote.

Another user under the @blackrasberry1 handle commented “This is ugly for mothers, women and professional entertainment.”

As the insults intensified, @HarrietEve9 condemned both the artists’ behaviour.

“Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have gone too far with their toxicity. Both are equally wrong in this regard. Disparaging children to make a point in adult disagreements or beef is never acceptable,” cautioned the user.

The origin of beef in rap music dates to the 1980s and has gained prominence with new artists and as the genre evolves.

It typically involves artists or musical groups competing through lyricism and proving who is best.

Some have however taken it too far over the years by escalating their disputes even in real life.

In the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj situation, there were calls for other female legends in this industry to intervene and broker peace between them.

The two musicians have both displayed great capabilities and creativity in their craft by leading numerous charts and winning awards.

Although they have both featured on the 2017 track Motorsport with hip hop group, The Migos, it remains a mystery whether they will work together in future.
