Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chilloane is on Monday expected to release a racism report following investigations launched three months ago at the Pretoria High School for Girls.
The investigation sought to ascertain concerns from various stakeholders about a potential culture of racism within the institution.
Chiloane appointed an independent law firm in July after black learners at the school reported that white girls had created a WhatsApp group chat where they allegedly shared messages containing racial remarks.
The black girls claimed that the principal and the school’s management failed to act following their complaints.
It was also alleged that white learners received preferential treatment from teachers.
Principal Phillipa Erasmus and twelve girls were suspended, however the learners were later cleared of any wrongdoing by a panel that included members of the School Governing Body.
The principal remains on suspension.
