Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has threatened to resign if the team fails to secure a place in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

“If we lose both games, five minutes after the game I’m on the flight to Belgium.

You can be sure of it.

Uganda okay away is tough, but at home against South Sudan, I tell you, I’ll immediately take a flight, and you will never see me again,” warned Broos during a media briefing at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto.

Bafana will first battle it out with Uganda away from home on 15 November at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala and will return to play against South Sudan on home soil at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town, on 19 November.

The team is currently in second place in Group K with eight points, and a point will guarantee the team for the continental showpiece, depending on the performance of other countries.

The Cranes are on 10 points, Congo four, while South Sudan are winless in the pool and have no points.

Despite his bold ultimatum, Broos maintained his confidence in the squad.

“Honestly, we have the quality, we are bronze medallists.

Can you imagine that the bronze medal of nine months ago can’t even qualify for the next AFCON?

So, I’m not thinking about that because again, my confidence is big in this team, but we can’t accept if we shouldn’t be qualified for AFCON,” said the Belgian mentor.
