The 7th state witness, Tumelo Madlala said he didn’t see who fired the deadly shot that killed Bafana Bafana Captain Senzo Meyiwa on 26 October 2014.

The defense lawyer, Sipho Ramosepele opened his cross examination asking Madlala who killed Meyiwa on the 26 October 2014.

Madlala said: “I don’t know, I didn’t see.”

Madlala, singer Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandile, their mother Gladness, Longwe Twala and Mthokozisi Thwala witnessed the alleged botched robbery the night Meyiwa’s was gunned down.

Madlala took the stand on Tuesday to give details of what happened  on the night in question and he told the court that when two intruders entered the Vorsloorus home, Twala pushed past them and then ran outside.

The rest of the people in the house stood up and tried to fight the two intruders and pushed them to the kitchen.

Madlala said Meyiwa had pinned accused Number 2 Bongani Ntanzi on the wall in the kitchen and he also hit him with a fist when a gun went off. The gun was so loud it temporarily deafened his ears and he fled to the bedroom after the shot was fired.

Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and  Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli are charged murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition. The accused have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
