The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Member of Parliament, Zandile Majozi says the party will “not close the door on any political party” in coalition talks ahead of next year’s general elections.
This follows the DA’s Moonshot Pact where it aims to bring together all opposition parties including ActionSA a bid to oust the ANC in next years elections.
The DA and the IFP have recently signed a “historic service delivery pact” in Kwa- Zulu Natal.
But IFP MP, Zandile Majozi said the party is still open for talks with all political parties.
“We are not part of the Moonshot Pact. We are IFP and we are in negotiations with the parties that we have been in coalition with. So right now what is happening is we are mainly discussing issues. If it happens that we will have to go to coalition whether nationally or in province we will have a clear stance on what it should entail in those policies.
“But we are going to elections as the Inkatha Freedom Party and we are going to go with our ideology. We will create our own manifestos and all that so each party will be doing their own thing.
“It is a fact that we are going to be in coalitions. We are not closing the door on any political party. We want to work with everyone but we are mainly mainstreaming on how it happens. Then how can we work together with other political parties,”she added.
The IFP caucus conducted an oversight visit in Hammanskraal to assess services delivery in the area and embarked on a clean up campaign.
The DA, ActionSA and other political parties are expected to host a national convention on 16 until 17 August.
