In a spectacle of love and celebration, the International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC) is set to host a breathtaking mass wedding ceremony on Easter Sunday, welcoming 1,500 couples to holy matrimony. This extraordinary event, taking place at the church’s Kanana City in Heidelberg, Gauteng, marks a significant increase from last year’s record of 400 couples and is expected to see over 3,000 individuals participating in the festivities.

The event is rooted in the church’s longstanding tradition of “colourful and glittering mass weddings,” which continues to attract many from within the faith community and beyond. Among the couples participating, some grooms will be marrying multiple wives, reflecting the church’s approach to polygamous relationships and customs. “It’s not just a wedding; it’s a massive celebration of faith and community,” said a church representative.

As the day approaches, excitement builds among the couples, each preparing for what they hope will be a memorable ceremony. The event will be officiated by church leader Michael Sandlana, who is expected to guide the couples through the matrimony rites, bringing together their hopes and dreams in a single moment of unity.

The choice of Easter Sunday for this momentous occasion is significant, as the day celebrates renewal and new beginnings, aligning perfectly with the themes of love and commitment inherent in the marriage vows that will be exchanged. The mass wedding event is part of the church’s broader Easter festivities, highlighting the importance of family, faith, and community bonds within the church.
