“Is there an AKA tweet for everything?” Mzansi ponders

Another timeless tweet by late rapper, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes that speaks to present events in the country has emerged once again.

“Speak facts! If there really was a genocide or massacre of your citizens in this country, wouldn’t your government have announced the names or number of fatalities? CNN fed you fake news and you devoured it,” read a post from the slain rapper dating back to 2022.

The resurfacing of the tweet coincided with the much-anticipated meeting between President Cyril Ramaphosa and his US counterpart, Donald Trump on Wednesday at the White House, in Washington D.C.

The visit by Ramaphosa and his delegation to the US was part of efforts to dispel unsubstantiated claims of a white genocide mostly against farmers in the country.

Mzansi resonated with the post and began to reminisce on how much of a patriot the Supa Mega was.

@Real_Precious_M was in awe “OMG! There’s literally an AKA tweet for everything. Man, you are missed Kieran. You were the only logical celebrity we ever had.”

@MondliBrianZum1 commented “The only guy who was always speaking facts.”

Another user on X sang AKA’s praises by commenting “We lost a patriot here. May your soul continue to rest in peace.”

Apart from releasing hit record, AKA wasn’t afraid to get involved and share his thoughts on the real issues that affect the country.

When he had a chance, he shared his political views and stance on global matters, opening the platform to the different views from fans and followers.

It has been two years since AKA was gunned down in Durban, but his relevance seems to be living on despite his physical presence.

His family, friends and fans are still optimistic for justice in his honour as well as answers to the circumstances that led to his untimely passing.
