Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema says former President Jacob Zuma is welcome to join the party while

speaking to the media in Khutsong on Friday where the party held its celebration with children at the Zanele Mtshali Disabilities Home near Carletonville as part of its 10th birthday bash.

The party donated R100 000 to the home and it will hold national celebrations at the FNB Stadium, Nasrec on 29 July.

Malema’s call comes after Zuma’s ally Mzwanele Manyi who is also the spokesperson for the Jacob Zuma Foundation left his party the African Transformation Movement (ATM) and joined the red berets early this month.

“If President Zuma comes and joins the EFF he will be more than welcome. I think very soon I must go and see him. I must give him a form the same way I must give former president Thabo Mbeki and President Kgalema Motlanthe,” he said.

Malema continued: “I think President Zuma has paid his dues, I mean the highest form of punishment you can give to a sitting president is to make sure he doesn’t finish his term of office, have you done that to Zuma? Yes.

“It’s a permanent punishment. They will never finish talking about it. President Mbeki still speaks about it even today,” he said.
