The North Gauteng High Court heard in the case of Senzo Meyiwa that singer, and Meyiwa’s girlfriend Kelly Khumalo received two phone calls from one of the suspects Sifisokuhle Ntuli Nkani on 2 August and 15 October 2014.
The evidence was given by the fourth witness and police officer attached to National Cold Case Investigation Unit and cellphone data analyst, Colonel Lambertus Steyn.
Steyn, analysed data from cell phones of the people who were in the house and the suspects when Meyiwa was shot and killed.
“In my next point during my analysis I discovered that Kelly Khumalo with the number 27827044358 received a call from Sifisokuhle Ntuli Nkani with number 27733059202. I mean suspect (No) five in front of the court,” said Steyn.
Baloyi asked how he established this number. “Like I mentioned in the beginning. I drew up a profile on all the targets as well as the suspects through all the systems which were at my disposal,” said Steyn.
Steyn revealed that there were two calls made on the 2 August and 15 October 2014 with call duration of about 2 minutes each while the other one was 98 seconds.
Baloyi told court earlier this week that they had no intention of calling Khumalo as a witness after the defence lawyers indicated that they will bring an application to drag her to court.
The first state witness, Kelly’s sister, Zandile Khumalo last week identified accused number two Bogani Ntanzi as one of the intruders at her home in Vorsloorus.
Meyiwa was gunned down in Vosloorus in October 2014 in an alleged botched robbery.
Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli have pleaded not guilty to the charges.
They are charged with murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
