EFF leader Julius Malema said he expected two more senior leaders to leave his party to join uMkhonto Wesizwe party. While Malema did not mention names in his post on social media platform X, many have insinuated he’s referring to among others the charismatic former spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi who is also being touted to replace Floyd Shivambu as Deputy President of the party when it holds its National People’s Assembly in December.Ndlozi is perceived as being close or having historical ties with Shivambu and has done little to distance himself when the latter moved to join MK.“

Only two more of your favourites remain, and the list will be finalised. They sing beautifully and are always willing to pose for pictures and sign roll calls, but remember, their souls are long gone. To prevent any potential hurt, it’s crucial to heed the guidance of the leadership. We remain standing and are not going anywhere under a criminal syndicate,” said the EFF leader following an SABC report revealing Mpofu’s departure.Malema who is expected to be re-elected unopposed to his position uncontested said in the aftermath of Shivambu’s departure that he expected more people to leave his party to follow Shivambu.“ Jimmy Manyi also left to join MK and many others will go because they had their loyalty to the ( deputy president) that is what will happen.

So fighters on the ground must not be shocked and this should not be a point of the collapse of the EFF,” said Malema after Shivambu’s departure.Actor and Filmmaker Fana Mokoena is among those who are also expected to leave the party as he appears to be failing in an attempt to convince the red berets to ‘unite’ with MKP.Mokoena who recently resigned as an EFF MP suggested the party had become obsessed with MK and personalised politics prompting former leaders such as National Spokesperson to challenge him on social media.

“The MKP’s idea of uniting the opposition under one umbrella, whatever we call it, instead of fighting in silos, sometimes even fighting one another, is a superior idea, and most relevant for the politics of SA today. In the same way the EFF’s uniting Africa is a superior idea,” said Mokoena in a post on X.
