The newest album by the late rapper known as AKA, Kiernan Forbes, will still be released, according to the musician’s family, despite his terrible passing.
Two unidentified shooters opened fire on AKA and his companion Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane as they were leaving a restaurant in Durban over the weekend.
According to a statement posted on the musician’s social media platforms on Thursday, Mass Country will be published on February 24.
“Mass Country has taken over as AKA’s whole universe for the past two years. The Supa Mega consistently maintained the energy and suspense surrounding the album release,” reads the the statement.
Raphael Benza, a close friend and business associate of AKA, said that the rapper put a lot of effort into his most recent musical release because he was committed to delivering his fans only the best.
“He was inspired to create a masterpiece by the Megacy’s enthusiasm and aspirations. Even at our darkest hour, we are happy to share the music he left for us to enjoy forever.”
Another song off the new album, Company, will be released today, the same day as the memorial service that will be held in the late rapper’s memory.
The single was recorded in Los Angeles during his January holiday.
Fans of AKA have expressed gratitude to the Forbes family for releasing the album despite their sorrow on social media.
