North West Premier Lazarus Mokgosi has described 2024 a landmark year for the government as it celebrated 30 years of democracy and the ushering of the 7th administration.

This emerged during his Christmas message to the residents of the province, to reflect on the strides the government has made in expediting the provision of services in communities.

“It was a year of unprecedented achievements in the North West province as we made some significant milestones in responding to service delivery challenges confronting our communities.

We rolled up our sleeves and ensured that we make an impact by successfully implementing Phase 4 of the Accelerated Service Delivery Programme – Thuntsha Lerole Reloaded,” said Mokgosi.

The premier commended the public and private stakeholders who ensured that community members benefit from all the initiatives of service delivery programs and job creation measures.

“We have recorded great improvements in our 2023/24 departmental audit findings, and we intend to continue this trajectory.

Our efforts to create jobs are beginning to bear fruits and this is given credence by the 69 000 jobs we created in the third quarter of 2024.

Several initiatives are already in motion to nip the high unemployment rate in the bud, particularly among the youth, women, and persons with disabilities,” explained Mokgosi.

The premier also applauded his Executive Council, the House of Traditional Leaders, and others for the role they played in addressing the socio-economic needs of the people.

He urged residents to remain vigilant in this festive season and wished them well.
