A female lawyer has been shot dead in the Johannesburg CBD after she was attacked while on her way to work on Monday morning. Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) Deputy Commissioner, Umashi Dhlamini, has been placed on suspension, following serious allegations levelled against him at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. According to the TMPD spokesperson, Colonel Isaac Mahamba, Dhlamini requested to be placed on suspension with immediate effect following the damning allegations. “TMPD Commissioner Yolande Faro has considered Deputy Commissioner Dhlamini’s request and duly approved it.
