Police are investigating a case of murder after a 21-year-old student, Ntokozo Xaba, was stabbed to death at a house in Pretoria Gardens last week.
Xaba was a Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) student. Her ex-boyfriend was later taken in for questioning.
“It is reported that on 1 February 2023, the victim was drinking with friends, including her ex-boyfriend at a house in Pretoria Gardens,” said Police spokesperson, Dimakatso Sello.
“The friends reportedly left, leaving the two together. The following morning, the victim was found dead with stab wounds on the neck.
“The ex-boyfriend has since been taken in for questioning by the police. Investigations continue. It is reported that on 1 February 2023, the victim was drinking with friends, including her ex-boyfriend at a house in Pretoria Gardens.
“The friends reportedly left, leaving the two together. The following morning, the victim was found dead with stab wounds on the neck. The ex-boyfriend has since been taken in for questioning by the police. Investigations continue,” Sello added.
The third year student, according to TUT, lived at the university’s Ekhaya Junction residence and was enrolled in the National Diploma in Integrated Communications program. TUT spokesman Phaphama Tshisikhawe stated, “She met her untimely death in what looks to be an incidence of gender-based violence.”
