President Cyril Ramaphosa re-elected at the ANC’s 55th National Conference in Nasrec

President Cyril Ramaphosa was reelected at the ANC’s National Elective Conference in Nasrec, beating top contender and former Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize.

NEC member Paul Mashatile was elected Deputy President and Mineral and Energy Minister and former ANC National Chairperson also retained his seat.

Popular former Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane became the new 1st Deputy Secretary-General to Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula who was elected as the Secretary-General a position that was held by former Free State Premier Ace Magashule until he was suspended from party activity.

Then the late Jessie Duarte became caretaker SG until her passing away. Mashatile then became the acting SG until today.

Former Tshwane Executive Premier was elected Treasury-General replacing Mashatile who is now Deputy President.

ANC Women’s League Task Team convener Marubini Ramakgopa was elected as the 2nd DP SG.
