Shivambu confirms formation of a new party

Floyd Shivambu will soon be forming his own party. Shivambu was recently removed as Secretary General of uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) and said during a media briefing in Midrand that his removal as Secretary General was orchestrated by a corrupt faction he claimed surrounded former President Jacob Zuma.

MKP cited Shivambu’s controversial trip to fugitive Sherphard Bushiri’s church in Malawi as reason for what was essentially a demotion (to being a member of parliament) at the time but on Thursday he rubbished that alleging 2 bogus intelligence reports were used to justify his removal and planned expulsion from the party.

“Extremely bizarre and fake intelligence report was produced, which was claimed to be a conversation between me and some people in the African continent, where it is alleged that despite raising money to remove President Zuma, I’m also accumulating supernatural powers to make people disappear. That is the reason why we had to deal with superstitious issues as the basis of what happens like this. Apparently, a head which I was going to be given to give to someone and some people were going to die so that I can become president of uMkhonto weSizwe,” said Shivambu of what he said was the real reason for his removal.

He was adamant none of the allegations stated in the said reports were true even claiming to have offered MKP top officials his phone for them to go through it.

“That was the intelligence report, which was rejected with contempt and said that that is absolute rubbish and said that ( if anyone claims to have my WhatsApp conversations, I can hand over my phone. I even offered in the meeting that take my phone and check not only the messages that you claim were about the removal of President Zuma, also check any other message about anything that I communicate as a leader of uMkhonto weSizwe because there’s a principle which I always uphold that there’s nothing that I do privately that I cannot own up publicly,” he said.

Shivambu claimed the faction he said surrounds Zuma was also stealing from the party and warned it could be de-registered by the IEC for failing to account for funds allocated to it.

“So the president of Mkhonto Osisi, (2:06) whom I dearly and so deeply respect, is surrounded by political scoundrel who opportunistically use his kindness, sometimes gullibility, that comes with age to write down fake intelligence report to influence him towards wrong directions. And the reason they do that is because they want to steal money from Mkhonto Osisi.  And they’re doing so now.Withdrawal of not less than seven million band every month from organisational coffers. And we’re talking about this because we raised it internally that stop what you are doing. Because you’re going to get the party deregistered as a political party,” he said.

Shivambu said him and a yet to be announced interim leadership will cris-cross the country to canvass the idea of a new political party.

MKP is yet to respond to the allegations by its former Secretary General.
