The South African mens team, Akani Simbine, Bayanda Walaza, Bradley Nkoana and Shaun Maswanganyi have won an Olympic Silver medal in the Men’s 4x100m Relay at Paris 2024, finishing second behind winners Canada in 37.57sec.

Canada stormed to a surprise victory in the men’s 400m relay final to take gold as Team Great Britain secured bronze, and the USA missed out on a medal after more changeover drama.

The Canadian quartet of Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney, and Andre De Grasse triumphed from lane 9 to finish in 37.50 seconds.

This is South Africa’s first major medal in track and field since 2017.
