Most of South Africa had a winter wonderland as snow fell in several regions between Friday and Monday morning.
Social media was used by South Africans all throughout the country to share pictures and videos of snowfall or flakes landing in their neighbourhoods.
Johannesburg and the rest of Gauteng were no exception, with happy locals posting photos of a snowstorm in their neighborhoods.
As snowfalls continue to wreak havoc on parts of the region’s roadways, the Eastern Cape transport department has advised motorists to go through the province’s mountain passes with additional caution.
There have been numerous reports of cars swerving off the road because of the snow. A bus met the same end at the Lootsberg Pass on the N9 between Graaff-Reinet and Middelburg as a cab did at the Penhoek Pass, the department reported on Monday.
