In the final of the one-day tournament, Mamelodi Sundowns proved to be too strong for the Buccaneers. At half-time, Sundowns led 3-0 thanks to goals from Cassius Mailula, Grant Kekana and Sphelele Mkhulise. With Mailula scoring two in the restart, Tshwane giants extended their lead to 4-0. The Soweto giants had a few chances, but they couldn’t beat Denis Onyango. In the end, Sundown’s won 4-0 thanks to a rampant attack. Mailula was named Man of the Match for his performance. The teams will now head into a break due to the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar. The two Gauteng giants will meet again on December 31 as the 2022-23 PSL season resumes.
