Three of Mzansi’s best runners, Akani Simbine, Shaun Maswanganyi and Benjamin Richardson have made Team SA’s presence felt at the Men’s 100m race, after making it through to the semi-finals at the Paris Olympics.
Simbine finished with the best time of 10.03 while Maswanganyi and Richardson clocked 10.06, respectively.
Their remarkable performance has left SA eager to witness them race for their lives as they will contend for both the 100m semis and the 800m finals on Sunday evening.
Their stunning performance has Mzansi on their feet with hopes that Team SA’s medal total, which currently stands at four, will tally up.
@AgriGrowthBuzz commented “Good luck to all our athletes who will be participating today.’’
@Perfin_Int wrote “Congrats to our Men’s 100m athletes. Solid performances to qualify for the semis.’’
Meanwhile, SA athletes continue to solidify their position at these Olympics, proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
American-based track runner, Adriaan Wildschutt delivered a stellar performance, setting a new South African record in the men’s 10 000m final, which he finished at the time of 26:50:54.
With this, he broke his own record which he set during the annual Ten contest held in San Juan Capistrano, California earlier this year, where he finished at the time of 26:55:54.
