Comedian, Trevor Noah has once again inked his name in the history books, after The Daily Show with Trevor walked away with an Emmy for Outstanding Talk Series at the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held in Los Angeles, USA.

It is the show’s first victory in the category since former host Jon Steward’s tenure in 2015.

Noah who left the show back in December 2022, showed love to his entire team during his acceptance speech.

“This story has been so long and has been so crazy, so wonderful. I’d like to thank the crazy Africans who followed me to this country. Thank you so much to the team and the person I always thank, the crazy Jon Steward. Thank you for calling me up and asking me to come join you on this crazy journey,’’ said the ecstatic Noah.

Despite this, Noah isn’t new to the Emmys as he previously won Outstanding Short Form Variety Series back in 2017, but his newest victory is most special because it makes him the first black man to win the award in the awards history books.

His deserved win finally came through after the ceremony was postponed for several months due to the Hollywood writer’s and actor’s strike last year.

Among those who congratulated him on this historic win is Arts and Culture Minister, Zizi Kodwa.

“You continue to inspire and scale great heights with your talent @Trevornoah. Well done on your history-making at the Emmys,” Kodwa applauded Noah.

Trevor’s success abroad has been skyrocketing ever since he landed in Hollywood, with opportunities like hosting the Grammys for the fourth time and being nominated for Best Stand-Up Comedian in Television at the US Golden Globe Awards.
