Tyla teases Water remix

Who will ride the wave with SA Pop sensation Tyla on the remix of her hit track Water?

That’s the question on everyone’s mind after she posted two images on her Instagram account, one with a letter T necklace hanging on her back and another indistinct with only the words ‘water remix’ showing, with the caption “Guess who’’?

The track has garnered remarkable global success and recognition, making Tyla the first SA artist to pocket 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Last month the 21-year-old made a historic debut on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at number 67.

This made Water the first solo song by a South African musician to appear on the chart since Grazing in the Grass by jazz icon Hugh Masekela, 55 years ago at number 3.

Amid the guessing game, fans made it clear that they don’t want US star, Chris Brown, who has a controversial past, to be on the much-anticipated remix.

“Girl you better not have that man on that song Sista. Don’t play with us,” one user commented on X.

Tyla showed interest in her fans’ concerns about Breezy, and asked in another post ‘Why y’all scared’??

“Because it’s gonna change the trajectory of your life whoever is on that remix,’’ another fan explained.

This comes after she joined Chris on his UK and Europe tour which kicked off back in February at the 02 Arena and wrapped up in Paris in March.

Canadian rapper Drake is another potential candidate who wouldn’t come as a surprise on the remix, especially after he followed her on Instagram.

During a Spotify Q&A last month, Tyla also revealed that Champagne Papi was his dream collaborator.

“My dream collab is Drake 100%. It’s coming soon. I’m putting it in the atmosphere,’’ said the singer.

Who do YOU think should be in this remix?
