On Monday, eNseleni and eMhlanga were among the areas impacted by thunderstorms, torrential rain, and strong winds.

The man was slain while working at the Five Ways Mall in Empangeni, according to the mayor of uMhlathuze Municipality, Xolani Ngwezi. The man is thought to have died after falling from the roof of a shopping mall.

According to Ngwezi, there was also property damage, and 20 families had to find other places to stay.

“Electrical infrastructure, for instance, was seriously damaged in ward 4 of Mandlazini, close to Richards Bay, and residents have been without electricity since yesterday. Our airport was inundated, but our crisis management experts were alerted right away and dealt with many of the problems.”
